TBS Today, Oct. 9

About to fly to SFO from the East Coast and we can't wait to get back to work! Lots of emails and stories to catch up on.

Thank you all for your patience.

It's been a great break with friends and family. The breaking news gods appear to have cooperated (even though we've still had a few stories for you).

Hopefully this won't jinx it.

Our exclusive today: A young woman and two young men, both 18, have been charged with an armed robbery series linked to eight victims near UC Berkeley in late September.

As far as we know, The Scanner was the only news outlet to follow up on this case.

We still have a number of items to catch you up on this week, and some court hearings on the agenda too.

But the time off has been much needed and appreciated. (Including the reminders from readers that we were supposed to be on vacation! It can be tough to keep that in mind.)
