TBS Today, Oct. 1
It's been four years since I began covering one of the most heartbreaking stories of my career. Two young brothers from Berkeley High were killed at a birthday party just a few blocks from my home in North Oakland.
They were innocent victims who were not the intended targets. Their deaths shook the school community and rippled through the Bay Area.
The case is still moving slowly through the justice system. We remain in touch with the family and we hope to have an update soon.
In the meantime, we're sharing several stories from our archives about what happened.
Unthinkable: A mother reflects on slain sons Angel and Jazy

Two other teenage boys were also wounded in the shooting on Apgar Street at a birthday party for Berkeley High students.

Remembering Jazy and Angel: ‘Forever in our hearts’
“When we try to make sense of this, it’s just hard and it hurts,” said Aaron Lechuga, a Berkeley Unified School District counselor, from the lectern.
