Watch: City crews clear Berkeley homeless camp
Heavy equipment rolled in Wednesday as the Harrison Street encampment closure continued.
City of Berkeley crews continued work to close a large, longstanding homeless camp in the Harrison Street corridor Wednesday.
Footage from the scene showed workers with heavy equipment clearing debris around 11 a.m.

Homeless residents and their supporters have decried the encampment closure and say they will be worse off if they're forced to scatter.
The operation began Tuesday. The city has not said how long it will last. About 80 people were living in the encampment before it closed.
The city spent much of Tuesday cleaning up side streets, leaving the bulk of the work on Harrison Street itself for later.
