TBS Today, April 12

Today began with a bang after another all-nighter spent catching up on work: A writer for SFGATE wrote a story that came out this morning that included substantial references to my coverage of DA Pamela Price.

Unfortunately, the story was rife with unfounded, inaccurate claims and the author never sought comment from me.

I was disappointed that SFGATE felt the article was up to any kind of journalistic standards. I wrote to Editor-in-Chief Grant Marek this morning to express my views but never heard back.

Rest assured, although it's frustrating to see such shoddy claims get published, baseless criticism will not stop me from reporting on the issues that matter most to the community.

I've already been subjected to hate speech, blatant lies and trolling on Twitter in recent months, but it's a different matter when the false statements come from a so-called journalist.

Still: This kind of baseless name-calling and attacks are well-known tactics used to silence criticism. It will not work on me.

I may have more to say on this subject later, but I'll leave it there for now.

Let's get to the news.
