A four-vehicle crash in the Berkeley Hills on Friday left one person with minor injuries and closed part of Marin Avenue, police said.
The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Marin Avenue, near Spruce Street.
According to preliminary witness statements, a westbound driver on Marin Avenue swerved and struck a northbound vehicle on Spruce Street.
The driver continued west on Marin, striking an eastbound vehicle head-on before hitting another eastbound vehicle, Berkeley police said.
Authorities said a possible mechanical issue with the westbound vehicle may have contributed to the crash. The circumstances remain under investigation.
Only one minor injury was reported.
Marin Avenue was closed as authorities awaited tow trucks to remove the damaged vehicles.
All drivers remained at the scene, police said. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
