A man on an e-bike was taken to the hospital after colliding with a car Friday in northwest Berkeley.

Limited details were available as of publication time.

Readers asked TBS about the crash, which took place just after 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Street and San Pablo Avenue.

The electric bike rider, a man in his 50s, hit a car and went over his handlebars, according to early reports. He was not wearing a helmet, authorities said.

The rider was conscious at the scene but sustained several visible injuries from the collision.

The man was taken "Code 3," with lights and sirens, to Highland Hospital, the regional trauma center, according to the Berkeley Fire Department.

The driver remained at the scene.
