The city of Berkeley released its budget reduction plan Tuesday just after 5 p.m.

We're about to attend tonight's Berkeley City Council meeting but will review the budget plan and publish our own analysis soon.

In the meantime, we wanted to be sure our readers had timely access to the firsthand material.

Berkeley budget plan: 138 positions slated for cuts
Thirty-eight of the positions are filled and 100 are vacant. The budget plan has been published. It will be presented to the budget committee Thursday.
