Motorcycle rider seriously injured in Berkeley crash

A motorcycle rider sustained a significant leg injury during a collision in South Berkeley on Wednesday evening, authorities report.
The crash was reported just before 5:15 p.m. at Sacramento Street and Dwight Way, Berkeley police said.
The rider was reported to be conscious and breathing, but appeared to have a serious injury, according to early reports.
Police said northbound Sacramento Street was closed at Dwight Way, and westbound Dwight was closed at Spaulding Avenue, due to the investigation.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
