A burglary crew in a pickup truck rammed its way into the Berkeley Cotopaxi on Fourth Street early Monday morning and stole more than $20,000 in merchandise, authorities report.
Limited details were available as of publication time.
But police said they got a call from a concerned passer-by at about 6:30 a.m. about the broken glass storefront at 1915 Fourth St., just north of University Avenue.
From surveillance footage, officers determined that two men and a woman had backed the truck through the glass doors at about 1 a.m.
For some reason, no alarm went off to alert authorities.
The investigation is ongoing, Berkeley police said.
Shortly before publication time, no one picked up the shop phone when TBS attempted to learn more.
A message on Google noted that the store was temporarily closed.
