Fatal crash closes I-80 freeway lanes in Berkeley

A motorcycle rider reportedly died Sunday in a crash on Interstate 80 in Berkeley, according to preliminary reports.
The crash was reported near the Gilman Street exit shortly after 3 p.m.
According to early reports, a motorcycle rider on eastbound I-80 in the fast lane was reportedly ejected over the center divide and trapped under a car due to the collision.
Authorities confirmed the fatality just after 3:40 p.m. and said the coroner's office would respond.
The crash and emergency response closed several lanes of travel.
