Richmond police chase into Berkeley sees 1 arrested

A driver was arrested in Berkeley on Wednesday following a car chase by Richmond police, authorities report.
The chase ended at about 4:30 p.m. when the driver crashed at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Delaware Street in North Berkeley.

Berkeley police assisted in traffic control after the collision but were not involved with the pursuit, authorities said.

Update, Aug. 28: Richmond police provided the following details. They appear in full.
"At approx. 3:54 PM Officers received a Flock notification of a vehicle wanted out of Stockton PD for felony evading. Officers located the car in the area of 100 W. Macdonald Ave. As they attempted to stop it, the vehicle fled. The Contra Costa SO helicopter was in the area and monitored the car as it drove from Richmond to Berkeley. The vehicle was involved in a traffic collision with parked cars in the area of Martin Luther King and Delaware in the City of Berkeley. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. The driver is currently in custody for felony evading. The pursuit did not result in injuries."
