The City of Berkeley Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will meet Thursday, June 20, at 6:15 p.m. to review the North Berkeley BART Access Plan’s recommendation for a two-way bikeway on Virginia Street, which is slated to be built as part of the complex planned at North Berkeley BART.

BART will present two options for the segment of the bikeway between Acton Street and West Drive.

  • Option A: A wider bikeway that removes 5-8 on-street parking spaces on the north side of Virginia and maintains the sidewalk width
  • Option B: A narrower bikeway that preserves the on-street parking but narrows the sidewalk.
