Berkeley purse-snatcher strikes again, evades police
There have now been six bags taken from women’s cars since last Friday, in addition to a seventh incident where a woman scared off the thief.

Public safety town hall

Supervisor Keith Carson is holding a town hall event about public safety Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's at Beebe Memorial Cathedral at 3900 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland.

Invited public safety officials include California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Alameda County Public Defender Brendon Woods, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, Alameda County Sheriff Yesenia Sanchez, Oakland Police Chief Floyd Mitchell and others. BPD will also be there.
