A cyclist was taken to Highland Hospital with a serious leg injury after running into a stopped AC Transit bus in the Berkeley Hills on Wednesday evening, according to preliminary reports.

The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. at Spruce Street and Regal Road.

The cyclist, who was described as a woman in her 20s, was coming down the hill and reportedly ran into the bus while it was stopped, according to preliminary information.

The Berkeley Fire Department took the woman to Highland Hospital, the regional trauma center, for treatment.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene because the crash involved an AC Transit bus, and Berkeley police also responded to the scene.
