TBS Today, Oct. 30

Just got out of court and heard the verdicts for the sex crime case we've been watching in recent weeks. We'll have that story for you in the coming days.

Our main feature today is about the Board of Supervisors (a first for us!) and proposed changes at the county level that could affect the Pamela Price recall campaign.

Questions still remain, but here's what we know.

Alameda County aims to alter election rules amid Price recall
The proposed changes might make it tougher to recall Pamela Price. County officials say they cannot comply with the current rules.

Reply to this email to let us know what you still want to understand. That will help us forge ahead.

On Friday evening, we were among the first to report that DA Pamela Price had her laptop stolen from her work vehicle in Oakland.

We shared that information (in brief) in a thread on X (formerly Twitter).

We're still looking for ways to share news tidbits that don't rely on Twitter. But we haven't found one as visible.

(That post alone has been seen nearly 60,000 times, for example.)

Tomorrow we're looking forward to speaking to a Berkeley High class about our work, and will report back on that.

Here's wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween on Tuesday.
