The alleged killer, Jonah Roper, “admitted to assaulting the victims with a knife, with the intent to kill,” police wrote in charging papers.

The chase didn’t end until the wheels fell off the getaway car, which had been stolen, Berkeley police said.

Student carjacked in Berkeley while packing for college
The robbers made off with the young man’s trombone in addition to his car, computer, books and clothing. Neighbors set up a GoFundMe.
