The Scanner Today, Feb. 23

Still under the weather so we'll keep this short.

First, we have the news on Berkeley's latest carjacking (thanks to a reader tip!). And the trend does not look good.

There have already been six carjackings in Berkeley this year. Last year, there had only been one at this time. Our latest story has the stats.

Police are also investigating what caused a man on Telegraph to sustain a serious head wound Thursday morning. Details are slim but our story below has what we've been able to glean.

The plan tomorrow is to spend it reporting on a larger project, so we'll wish everyone a good weekend.

We're here if anything major breaks, but sometimes we have to put the daily news aside for the bigger stories. We know you get it!

Speaking of the bigger stories, we have collected all of our deep dive articles in one place so you can see our most substantive work and biggest scoops since launch.
