The Scanner Today, Feb. 17

We spent most of today in court, first waiting for a sentencing hearing that was ultimately postponed at the request of the defense, and then doing research in the clerk's office about some notable cases.

Looking forward to the weekend and a chance to go over a number of tips that have come in regarding the district attorney's office.

Today's story focuses on some recent "hot prowl" burglaries in Berkeley, the kind that takes place while residents are home.

There have been at least three hot prowl burglaries since last weekend along with others that may be linked, residents told The Berkeley Scanner.
