The Scanner Today, Feb. 9

It's been one of those back-to-back days so this will be short.

First off: If you're interested in learning more about the city's new Specialized Care Unit, you'll have a chance to ask staff questions in a Zoom session tonight. We have the details below.

As you know, we're deepening our beat on the Alameda County district attorney's office. Tomorrow, we're set to speak with Pamela Price's spokesperson (details TBD). She has so far been unavailable to talk with us directly.

On that front, however: We spent the morning in court watching a case insiders said would offer insight into how Pamela Price will work to reshape the Alameda County justice system. It was well worth the trip. Don't miss the story.

I'll be offline tonight taking a much-needed break. Back with you tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned and stay safe.
