A runaway goat has roamed Berkeley for days, eluding residents, animal control and, most recently, police.

Dozens of Berkeley neighbors have shared sightings of the wandering goat.

Also, we had inquiries Friday night about a large police response near Bonar Street and Bancroft Way.

One resident saw Bancroft closed between Bonar and Curtis, along with "numerous police cars blocking intersections" on Bonar at Poe and Channing.

We asked police about it Friday night and learned they did have a large perimeter set up while they were looking for someone.

But the crime turned out to be minor and the man ultimately got away.
