The woman, estimated to be 19 years old, was shot in the face, according to early reports.
Berkeley police and firefighters responded quickly to the area.
BFD took the woman to Highland Hospital "Code 3," with lights and sirens, for treatment.
Limited details were available as of publication time.
The shooting was initially reported at Adeline Street and Ashby Avenue at 11:13 p.m., according to public records.

Update, 12:10 a.m. Police have closed Ashby Avenue from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to Shattuck Avenue, and northbound MLK from Prince Street to Ashby, reports photographer Ariel Nava, who responded to the scene for The Scanner.
Nava said there were a half-dozen or so evidence markers outside The Ashby Stage, at 1901 Ashby Ave., and police were using flashlights to search for evidence in the street.
In 2026, Berkeley and UC Berkeley police have now investigated two injury shootings and six non-injury shootings.
Last year, Berkeley had no injury shootings aside from a non-fatal police shooting.
Update, 12:30 a.m. Police are closely inspecting a silver sedan parked on Shattuck Avenue north of Ashby Avenue, which is also taped off, Nava said.
Officers were on the ground examining the area, where they had placed about a dozen evidence markers.
