Man, woman found dead in car at Aquatic Park in Berkeley

Two people, likely there for days, were found deceased in a car at Aquatic Park in West Berkeley over the weekend, authorities report.
Someone who noticed the pair in a parked car shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday alerted a group of volunteers doing a trash cleanup. The volunteers called police.
Berkeley police and firefighters responded to the scene in South Aquatic Park and found the vehicle in a disabled parking spot.
Berkeley firefighters arrived first and determined that both individuals in the car were deceased.
The Alameda County coroner's office then responded and took custody of the bodies.

The Berkeley Police Department will now conduct a death investigation and the coroner's office will determine cause of death.
As of Tuesday, the names of the individuals remained unavailable pending further investigation, the coroner's office said.
