Berkeley firefighters extinguished a massive warehouse fire on Second Street early Tuesday morning.

Community members identified the location as part of the former Pacific Steel Casting foundry, which closed in 2018. Authorities were unable to confirm that as of publication time.

According to emergency dispatches reviewed by The Scanner, arriving firefighters reported a "strange glow" and "strange-looking flames" due to possible hazardous materials at the site.
