Gunfire breaks out on Berkeley-Oakland border
A reader told TBS they heard eight gunshots followed by another five. It may be the first confirmed shooting of the year.
Berkeley police investigated gunfire Friday night on the southern border of the city.
One house was hit near King and Adeline streets but, so far, no victims have been located, Berkeley police said.
Friday night's shooting appears to be the first confirmed gunfire of the year, according to BPD data.
Berkeley police began getting reports at about 11:35 p.m. about the sound of multiple rounds being fired.
A reader told TBS they heard eight gunshots in the neighborhood followed by another five.
Arriving officers found evidence of gunfire at the scene.
But the shooter or shooters had already left, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
