Some quick notes as we head toward Thanksgiving.
ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY A reader asked about a possible bank robbery at the downtown Bank of America, noting, "It’s closed with yellow tape and there are three or four cruisers," with detectives investigating inside. This was Monday around 11:15 a.m. BPD told us a man tried to rob the bank via threats but left when he was unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.

BFD AT THE MARINA Another reader inquiry came in Monday at about 12:30 p.m. about possible Berkeley Fire activity in the water at the marina: "There were two fire rigs" along with "officials on the closed dock," with a BFD boat that was focused in one area for a prolonged period, the tipster said. BFD let us know Tuesday this was part of a training exercise.
ANTISEMITISM REPORTS AT UNIVERSITY VILLAGE A reader asked us about a statement issued Monday by the Albany mayor about antisemitic graffiti around town, including at University Village. He wrote that "hateful graffiti" had been "plastered in and around the University Village student-family housing complex." We're seeking more information from UC. Stay tuned.
