On Sunday, we helped organize a mixer for hundreds of Bay Area journalists with the help of two Scanner members who hosted the event.

The goal was simply to build community among local journalists at a particularly tough time for the industry. Even though we may compete for stories, we also want to do what we can to support each other.

It was an incredible turnout, with journalists and editors from national, regional and local outlets who are based here in the Bay. We're very excited to continue helping to strengthen the community going forward.
