Bike crash briefly closes Tunnel Road in Berkeley
The incident began at about 1:20 p.m. when a caller reported a cyclist on the ground, possibly unconscious.

A woman was taken to Highland Hospital on Thursday after what police say was a solo bike crash on Tunnel Road near the Claremont Hotel.
The roadway was closed until about 1:45 p.m. as police and firefighters responded to the crash, in the Claremont neighborhood at Tunnel and Domingo Avenue.
The incident began at about 1:20 p.m. when a caller reported the cyclist on the ground, possibly unconscious, in front of the hotel.
First responders stopped traffic as they investigated the incident and got the woman into an ambulance.
The woman reportedly sustained a head injury but was conscious at the scene, according to emergency dispatches reviewed by The Scanner.
In a Nixle alert at about 1:30 p.m., authorities asked people to use alternate routes due to the investigation, which closed Tunnel Road from Alvarado Road to Domingo.
According to preliminary information, the woman, who appeared to be in her 40s, fell off her bike and hit her head.
She was taken Code 2 (at normal speed) to Highland for assessment.
