A man who arranged a "sexual meeting" with a young girl in Berkeley is now facing a spate of felony sex crime charges, court papers show.

In other news, an update: Angel and Jazy Sotelo Garcia
On Friday afternoon, we were in juvenile court to check in on a double homicide case we've been following for years.
Angel and Jazy Sotelo Garcia were teenagers at Berkeley High when a stranger killed them at a young friend's party in 2022.
Police said the brothers were not the intended targets. Two other boys who were also wounded survived.
Witnesses said there were several shooters at the party. Only one person, who was six weeks shy of 18 at the time of the homicide, has been charged.
His case has been moving slowly through juvenile court.
On Friday, the defense indicated that the DA's office is trying to determine what to do with the case now that the office has new leadership.
In 2023, after Pamela Price was elected, longtime prosecutors were working to move the case to adult court due to the serious nature of the charges.
Price ultimately blocked that move and said she was largely against adult transfers, citing brain development and other factors.
Now, with Ursula Jones Dickson at the helm, the case has a new prosecutor: Mas Morimoto, a highly-respected veteran of the DA's office who attended Cal as an undergrad (after growing up in Lamorinda).
Since the defendant has been in custody, his attorney told the court Friday, he has gotten his associate degree. He is now signed up to take a class at UC Berkeley in the fall.
He had no family or friends in court on his behalf Friday.
We'll continue to follow the case. If you haven't read our past coverage, begin with an award-winning story.
