Berkeley police arrested an Oakland man over the weekend in connection with a recent commercial burglary on Fourth Street, authorities report.

On Saturday evening, Berkeley police got a hit from the department's Flock license plate reader system about a blue Tesla in the city that had been linked to the burglary.

The car popped up on the Flock system shortly before 6 p.m. on University Avenue near Sixth Street, police said.

Officers began looking for the car and spotted it nearby, at the Solar Car Wash in the 1100 block of University, about 20 minutes after the Flock camera hit.

Over the radio, police noted that the driver was "known to frequent" the shops around Fourth Street in northwest Berkeley.

Police ultimately arrested the driver, who had a warrant related to the burglary, which was reported June 6 in the 2200 block of Fourth Street.

His name was not immediately available due to the ongoing investigation.

Update, July 8: The driver was identified as Clifford Grant, 33, of Oakland, according to police and public records. He was no longer in custody as of Monday.
