Are meetings with Mayor Adena Ishii Berkeley's hottest ticket?
Appointments for the next round of office hours, on July 1, will open the week of June 9.

Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii announced her inaugural "office hours" about an hour ago — and her calendar is already full.
According to the signup sheet, the 11 people who snagged 10-minute slots hope to address everything from affordable housing and traffic safety to emergency services and the fire department's EMBER proposal.
(One person was able to sign up for back-to-back slots, but the mayor's office said this will be fixed.)
All the appointments were booked in less than 40 minutes.
In Thursday's email, the mayor's office urged people who want to meet with Ishii not to worry if they didn't get a spot this time — noting that this will be the "first of many office hours" the mayor plans to offer.
Appointments for the July 1 sessions will open the week of June 9, potentially with the time adjusted to allow for more conversations.

"Whether you have an idea you would like to share, you would like to address an issue or concern, or just want to meet the Mayor, all are welcome," the mayor's office said in Thursday's statement.
A dozen 10-minute spots were available from 3-5 p.m. Friday, June 6.
