Berkeley police are investigating a report of armed road rage that took place between drivers in the Claremont neighborhood Monday morning.

During the incident, police said, one driver brandished a revolver at the other one before both left the scene.

The incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. at Ashby and Domingo avenues, Berkeley police said.

According to the initial report, a driver in a sedan forced his way into merging traffic near Ashby and Claremont Avenue, causing the conflict.

Police said the drivers yelled at each other and honked, and one of them displayed a black revolver.

One of the drivers proceeded southbound on Domingo while the other continued east onto Tunnel Road, police said.

Officers were unable to locate the driver with the gun.

The other driver, who made the report, was unavailable to make a statement Monday, police said.
