Two young men must stand trial in the murder of Jasper Wu on I-880 in Oakland in 2021, an Alameda County Superior Court judge has ruled.

This week, Judge Scott Patton rejected the prosecution's theory of a "roving gun battle" and called the shooting a "planned ambush." The shift largely cleared the third defendant in the case.

This story took a lot of work to report and put together. We'll be watching closely to see what happens next.
