[****Help us tell the next 1,500 →**](https://buy.stripe.com/7sYaEXdZkfdx4rJ2mT8bS0D?ref=berkeleyscanner.com) [Give a birthday gift! ](https://buy.stripe.com/7sYaEXdZkfdx4rJ2mT8bS0D?ref=berkeleyscanner.com) Four years ago, I launched The Berkeley Scanner. Since then, I've been in the crosshairs of a high-profile politician, expanded City Hall coverage and launched a second site, Albany Scanner. I've now covered Berkeley news for 14 years. Perhaps the most important thing has been the relationship I've built with readers, who hold me accountable, make sure I'm focused on the right stories and keep the lights on. So grateful for all your support and very excited for year five! If you believe in what we do, please consider a small birthday gift to recognize our 4th birthday. [Four years of stories.
