Ricardo Ruiz, a Trump activist who's been jailed for a year after clashing with Berkeley police, is seeking release on mental health grounds. 

Ruiz previously denied he was mentally ill.

As we noted after publication in the comments section: There has been no evidence linking his death with drugs. We did learn he had heart problems.
