Berkeley police arrested multiple individuals Monday on Solano Avenue in connection with ongoing home repair scams targeting local residents.

But the investigation isn't over and residents should remain vigilant, BPD said.

We got the scoop on the arrests thanks to [Ariel Nava](https://www.arielnava.com/?ref=berkeleyscanner.com), a freelance photographer (and Berkeley native) who has been clutch in helping us document breaking news and critical incidents since the very start.

[Police encryption](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/berkeley-police-radio-encryption/) has made real-time reporting and breaking news photography nearly impossible.

The new system continues to be highly frustrating and there are huge gaps where there used to be transparency. But we're trying to adapt.

We started the morning in court as we continue to track a high-profile case filed in 2023 by DA Pamela Price.

The star witness is missing and prosecutors appear to be rethinking how to proceed.
