At our request, BPD released the video. It is graphic (including the audio), but also provides a much better sense of what happened. We've added this to our story. ### In other news: Berkeley council meets tonight, Feb. 10 Tonight's Berkeley City Council action begins at 5 p.m. with a special meeting focused on [council priorities](https://berkeleyca.gov/city-council-special-meeting-eagenda-february-10-2026?ref=berkeleyscanner.com). It's wonky, but helps determine how city staffers triage all the asks. Other items on the agenda: - The city is [redesigning its free ride program](https://berkeleyca.gov/sites/default/files/2026-01/2026-02-10%20Item%2015%20Fiscal%20Year%202027%20Operational%20Changes.pdf?ref=berkeleyscanner.com) (again) for seniors and the disabled. Due to a lengthy waitlist and budget shortfalls, each ride will now cost $4\.
