As of Aug. 16, Berkeley and UC police have investigated three injury shootings and six non-injury shootings. As of this time last year, there had been eight non-injury shootings and a [non-fatal police shooting](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/ricardo-ruiz/). Those systems at times provide useful information about shootings in Berkeley.
