According to emergency radio traffic reviewed by The Scanner, a [downtown Berkeley](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/downtown-berkeley/) hotel guest called police at about 8 a.m. to report that an older stranger had complimented her and touched her inappropriately at the West Crescent, near Oxford Street, about 15 minutes earlier. The man was described as 50-70 years old, 5 foot 5 with a medium build, possibly wearing a gray shirt, gray pants and glasses. He had gray hair and may have had an Italian accent, according to early reports. The man was last seen heading west from the [West Crescent](https://eventservices.berkeley.edu/venues/outdoor-venues/west-crescent/?ref=berkeleyscanner.com) lawn into downtown Berkeley.
