The [Berkeley Police Department](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/berkeley-police-department/) did not initially respond to requests for information but confirmed shortly after publication that a teenager had been arrested in connection with a warrant. In a Nixle alert just before 5:45 p.m., BPD asked everyone to avoid the 1100 block of Francisco Street due to unspecified "police activity" in the area. According to emergency dispatches reviewed by The Scanner, police were advised at about 4:30 p.m. about a missing teenager who had turned up in Berkeley who had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. Police later learned that the boy was in a house in the 1100 block of Francisco Street near Curtis Street, according to radio traffic. Police sealed the block and began making announcements ordering him to come outside shortly before 5:30 p.m. BPD also advised over the radio that there were students outside a nearby school, and that the campus was aware of the police activity. A parent asked The Scanner for information Monday evening seeing "at least 8 police cars on Curtis @ Francisco" when she was leaving Longfellow Middle School. Officers went into the house on Francisco at about 6:20 p.m. and searched it multiple times before announcing that they had made an arrest and were coming out about 10 minutes later.
