The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. when one driver appeared to have lost control coming down the hill on Marin Avenue, Acting BFD Battalion Chief DeJuan Turner said. The driver went through Marin Circle, missing the fountain and ending up on its side, BFD said, according to preliminary information. After stabilizing that vehicle, they were able to carry the driver out through one of his car doors. BFD rushed the man "Code 3," with lights and sirens, to Highland Hospital. The other driver was also taken to Highland Hospital, the regional trauma center. BPD put out a Nixle alert just before 1:25 p.m. asking people to "avoid the area" of Marin Circle "until further notice." BPD said it was actively investigating the collision and had closed several roadways as a result. TBS has asked BPD for more information. This story will be updated when additional details become available. **Update, 2:25 p.m.** BPD said details remain limited due to the ongoing investigation but that a 73-year-old driver is believed to have run into a 41-year-old driver as well as the bollards in the circle during the crash. Both drivers had complaints of pain.
