[Berkeley police](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/berkeley-police-department/) began getting reports of a shooting at Harrison House, at 711 Harrison St., shortly before 5:30 p.m. following some type of argument or disturbance, BPD said. Berkeley police applied chest seals and attempted to revive him with CPR but their efforts were unsuccessful. Three of the homicides, which have all been [shootings](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/shootings/), have taken place since July. On March 17, police say Gabriella Riemer, 23, fatally stabbed her 60-year-old mother [Heather Riemer](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/2024/04/29/courts/berkeley-murder-case-heather-riemer-on-hold-psych-eval/) at their apartment on University Avenue. On July 3, Steve Addison killed [Matthew Gullette](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/2024/08/01/arrests/berkeley-police-arrest-murder-suspect-steve-addison/) outside a South Berkeley halfway house on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, according to police. On Aug. 16, police say 52-year-old [Corey Dushawn Waters](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/2024/08/16/shootings/berkeley-fatal-shooting-adeline-street-police-investigation/) of Oakland was killed in a shooting in the 3200 block of Adeline St. No arrests have been reported.
