Sizes may vary from just a few neighbors to events with 50 people or more. Street closures require block party permits. Help strengthen our community by organizing or joining your neighborhood’s National Night Out gathering on Tuesday, August 6\. By organizing your own gathering, you’d be part of a citywide evening of block parties, cookouts, and ice cream socials. You can also choose to attend an event that’s already registered. Join us for in-person workshops on June 3 or July 20\. Attend an upcoming workshop to give feedback on a draft plan for how Berkeley can prepare for wildfires, earthquakes, and other natural hazards. The plan, known as a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, identifies the hazards Berkeley faces and prioritizes City and community-member actions to reduce risks – which are increasing in severity and likelihood due to climate change.
