[Berkeley police](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/berkeley-police-department/) say 30-year-old Shan Woods (homeless) groped two women at the same bus stop on Friday evening before he was arrested nearby in the [Southside](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/southside-berkeley/) neighborhood. Police initially responded to Bancroft Way and Ellsworth Street at 5:10 p.m. on a sexual battery report, BPD said. They learned that a man had approached a woman at the bus stop and groped her chest at about 5 p.m. The woman pushed the stranger away but he returned a few minutes later and groped her chest again, police said. While they were arresting him, police also found a large knife "illegally concealed" in his pocket as well as a methamphetamine pipe, Berkeley police said. Woods was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery as well as allegations related to the knife and meth pipe, which are all listed as misdemeanors. As of Tuesday, he remained in custody at Santa Rita Jail with a bail of $17,500\. Woods has no other criminal cases listed in Alameda County.
