Two short Berkeley crime stories for you today. 

- A man who accidentally shot himself on Saturday is now facing criminal charges, police say.
- A man with a jug of gasoline walked into a hotel lobby and set the floor on fire, authorities report.

On Friday, the Alameda County DA's office was recused from the prosecution of a high-profile fatal police shooting case that had been set to begin trial in April. 

It's the second successful recusal motion of the entire office this year.
