# Person struck and killed by train in West Berkeley

A person was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train in Berkeley on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Limited information was available as of publication time, but a spokeswoman for Union Pacific said the incident happened at about 2:30 p.m.

It occurred on the train tracks near Potter and Bay streets, officials said.

The train crew was not injured and the incident is under investigation.
