# Masked men with gun rob the Smokehouse in Berkeley

Two men with a gun robbed the Smokehouse burger shop in Berkeley on Thursday night, authorities report.

The robbery happened just before 10:15 p.m., [Berkeley police](https://www.berkeleyscanner.com/topic/berkeley-police-department/) said. 

Two men in their 30s or 40s robbed the business at gunpoint and then fled westbound on Woolsey Street in a small moving van-type vehicle, authorities said.

Police searched the area but had not located the men as of publication time.

The [Smokehouse](https://www.eatsmokehouse.com/?ref=berkeleyscanner.com), which closes Thursdays at 11 p.m., is located at 3115 Telegraph Ave. (at Woolsey Street) and has been open in the neighborhood since 1951.

About a quarter of the robberies in Berkeley this year have involved guns.
